Payton's baby chairs!

Payton loves these antique stools because their little, he says they're "mine's baby stools." Sometimes I come into the room and find that he has pulled them out to watch a show.

Payton's Prayer

Payton says the sweetest prayers. He is very adamant about doing it himself and if you try to help him or prompt him, he says,"No, Payton say it."...and then he starts over again. So, they are mostly repetetive, and you can tell he usually uses words and phrases that we use in our prayers, however, last night his personality and sweet spirit came out in prayer. (he actually gave three) Among the three prayers he gave before bed he thanked Heavenly Father for daddy's "snowbeel," and for schoolbusses and dance class. But here is pretty much word for word one of the sweet ones.
"Hebbanly Fadder, thankoo for dis day, thank00 for our food, thankoo for mommies and daddies and grammmas and grannpas. A prayer for my pack pack (his back pack). Kanks for my pack pack seep wit you (his back pack sleeps by him at night) and for my cars seep wit you. Thank00 for Jesus seep wit you (thankful that Jesus sleeps with him at night???? HOW SWEET) Thankoo for sick and get better! Name Jesus- AMEN!!"
I must say, Kade and I were MELTING!

We love to see the Temple...

Its a joy to see Payton grow and learn, and an even greater joy to see him get excited about Eternal things. Though there is so much he doesn't understand, it was fun to see his excitement as we went to the Rexburg Temple Open House. He has been talking about it each night since, when we put him to bed. He tells us how he went to "Heavenly Fadder, and Jesus' House. It's Bootiful, with Angel Roni on top! And there's water in dare, special water, Payton no go in it till I's older." And his prayers are the sweetest. He has graduated to not wanting assistance, in fact if you say anything he gets irritated. He wants to do it on his own. Then, after he says amen he gets excited and says "I did it! I did it!"

So, Temples have, and will always be a part of our life. The Rexburg Temple is beautiful, we are grateful to have it close by and hope to attend it soon. As always, we love our Idaho Falls Temple, and the Boise Temple forever has a speicial place in our hearts as we were married there.

With the new year and new goals, I hope we will all take some time out of our scheduled lives to go- and reap the blessings. Much love from the Klinglers. Have a Happy New Year.

Our Winter Wonderland

Payton loves the snow, but I have a hard time keeping him from eating it everywhere we go! I snapped photos of him yesterday when we were on our way out to run errands.

Our Precious Child of God

Petey made his "Child of God" crown in nursery on Sunday. Later that night we went to McCuistion's house and told Craig what he had made. Craig asked him, "Are you a child of God Payton?"- for which he replied, "No, I'm Choncho!"
(See Nacho Libre for further explaination)

Artistic genius...

Payton likes to be creative. Here are two of his latest colorful creations.

Happy Day- no more potty!!

So, we attempted to potty train for two days, right after Christmas. It was eventful, but not in a successful way. Payton was so frustrated that all he did was cry constantly, he even refused to walk. He either had to be held or he held onto me while I went from place to place and he basically dragged behind me. Our day consisted of changing underwear after constant "accidents" which eventually became intentional, and cuddling on the couch to watch movies (the only thing that kept him from whining or crying.) When it was time to sit on the potty Payton would give me this sad cry, "pleassssssse, nooooo mommy! Pleasssse!" - and he became mean as ever, screaming out these random things... "NO- it's MY HOUSE...... MY FAVORITE GUN...... NO, SHE'S MY WIFE!!!!" (kinda hard not to laugh at that)- all while sitting on the time out chair for hitting. So, needless to say, it was a rough two days of not leaving the house. So, after 48 hours of this I decided that he had made up his mind and was NOT going to budge, so we exchanged our underpants for diapers, and the subsequent pictures are of a happy little cherub of a boy who is an absolute doll to be around- so long as the potty is out of the picture.

Little Swimmer

Payton loves his tub time, but only if it is filled to the brim with toys. Some of his favorites are boats and cars, because he claims they are dirty and need to be cleaned as well. He also requests that all his foam tub letters be dumped in- so he can 1) name all the colors and 2) throw them really hard against the wall and hope that they stick. If they do, you'll know, because you'll hear a chorus of "yay- I did it, I did it, I did it's."

Precious Moments

Mommy and Payton visited Boise a few days before Christmas, and this was just one of the tender moments there caught on camera.

Christmas at the Klingler House!

Payton watching his Jungle Book movie from Grandpa Bowen in the doggy sleeping bag that Grandma and Grandpa Klingler gave him. Of course, he can't be comfortable without his "corner" and his thumb in his mouth. What a cutie!

This was our big Christmas gift this year. It gets used well- especially during football season, and also to watch all of Payton's movies.

...Payton loved his visit with Santa.

They all opened their presents at the same time. Payton and his cousin Dallas both received blow guns that shoot foam darts. He calls it one of his "favorite guns" that he uses to shoot dragons and "scary dinasaurs."

Santa even had a present in his bag with Payton's name on for being good last year!

Payton and his cousins sat patiently and sang Christmas songs while they waited for Santa to arrive.

Santa Clause came to Newdale!

So, those who live in Newdale, Idaho, consider their little community -Zion. I am beginning to think it might be true. What else would merrit a personal visit from Santa Clause- a WEEK EARLY????

Double Thanksgiving

We were able to spend Thanksgiving this year with Kade's family (the Richards side) as well as the McCuistions. I think the holidays are so joyful because of the time we get to spend with family! I know that is why I always look forward to it so much! Dinner was a hit both places, but as you can see there is really only one thing we were able to get Payton to eat... and he ate them in abundance.
