The Klinglers in 2009

I wasn't able to get a Christmas card out this year, so I wanted to share some of our highlights with everyone and wish all our loved ones a Merry Christmas. We are truly blessed to have all that we do. We are grateful for the gospel, and especially for our Savior, Jesus Christ- and our families.

Our highlights this year as a family have been: moving into our new house in May. The passing of our dear friend (adopted Grandpa) Craig McCuistion. He was killed on June 26th on a river rafting trip with the young men in his ward. We miss him everyday, and continue to be close to his wife Cindy, and daughter Brittney. Owen was born 3 days later, on June 29th. He is truly a blessing. It took us awhile to get pregnant (2 years) so we have a bit of a gap between him and Payton, but it is a helpful one. Payton is a fabulous big brother!

Kade is still working for Tranes Diesel and doing well there. He enjoys archery and bow hunting. Golfing, and BYU Football. He had his season ticket again this year and attended most of the home games with his dad, brother, and sister that lives down in Utah. He continues to take one or two correspondence classes a year through BYU to finish his degree. He serves as a priest quorum advisor in our ward.

I am loving making our new house a home, and being a mommy of two. I am busy a few evenings a week with work, and I never really want to leave, because I have these 3 fun, cute boys at home. I miss them so much when I am gone. Outside of my wife/mommy job I teach, choreograph and direct at Dance Tech Studio in Idaho Falls. This year myself and a fellow instructor founded and began a professional company, TDC, The Dance Collaborative. It has been going fabulously! We have some fantastic adult dancers. We have had some great first performances and are excited for our first professional show to be held February 13th. I also manage the dancewear store in the studio.
I took up photography as a hobby this year and have just begun to turn it into little business. I am loving it!!!!! I serve as a ctr6 primary teacher in our ward.

Payton got moved this year, got a little brother and turned 4! He attends a little pre-school group with 7 other boys in our ward and he LOVES it! They have school twice a week. HE EATS IT UP! He is currently learning to count from 20-30. He knows all his letters, so at home we are working on spelling and sounding out words.
For fun he LOVES transformers, bakugans, starwars and hotwheels cars. He says the funniest things. He is a sunbeam this year and moves up to CTR5 this next year.
HE LOVES to help with his brother and is especially proud of his ability to make him happy when he is crying, and make him giggle.

Owen is darling. He grins CONSTANTLY with his little tongue hanging out of his mouth. He has big eyes, just like Payton did at his age, except Owen is pretty bald. Other than that, it is SO OBVIOUS that they are brothers. He loves attention- and if he gets it he is pretty content. He just cut a tooth YESTERDAY and is getting close to sitting up on his own. His favorite sound to make is "dadadad.." which Kade is pretty proud of because of course- he MEANS to say 'dad,' right?

We are so blessed and happy. Every day Kade and I marvel at the wonderful family we have been given and how we can possibly deserve it. Thanks to all our family, friends and co-workers who make our lives wonderful. We love an appreciate you all. Especially all of you friends who we don't get to see regularly but who constantly share their lives and love through email, facebook, letters and phonecalls.

Merry Christmas to you all.
LOVE-

Nicole, and the Klingler clan.

my darling

Meet Owen, the Halloween Bumble Bee.
(Psstt: My hand is in these pictures for two reasons. 1. He is a little wobbly on his own. And 2. He was ready for a nap and was screaming, but if I held his hand and tickled his little fingers, he would smile and laugh for me. He was easily pleased, just needed Mom!)

He makes an ever so cute bee! And doesn't he remind you of a little Payton??

This one was too precious! Look closely at the little bubble he blew, sitting on his beautiful lips!

How darling is he????

the PHOTOGRAPHY endeavor...

So I am ENDEAVORING to learn the art of photography. Its something that I have always been really interested in, but never have taken a step and that direction. I decided that the time has come, so I have LEPT into it FULL ON, and am now addicted.

Since I am just LEARNING, and probably will be for quite a while.... I am in need of cute models... babies, children, seniors, and families... to be my test subjects. That means you get any great photos I may turn out from your photo shoot , FREE... on CD for you to keep or print wherever you wish. CALL ME UP.

I will be documenting some of my photography education HERE! So visit it to check up one the latest. Currently posted is my FIRST EVER photo shoot with little newborn SALEM! (just a preview, more to come!) (Baby Salem.... check out my photography blog for further pics of this teeny sweetie!!!:)

Tell me what you think:)

one of a kind

I love little birthmarks, as they are just another indication of just how "One of a kind" each of us are. ( Owen has a cute, red, almost heart-shaped on on his back. That is why I insisted on this shot.

That has been one of the neatest things about having another baby- there are so many physical similarities between Owen and his brothers, and great family traits that they both posess... but they are completely their own... two distinctly different and VERY special souls.

It is interesting as a mother, what impressions you receive when you look into your babies eyes. I was never one of those moms who could discern sex, or personality traits of her child while in the womb, but impressions sure come with strength when I look into the eyes of my baby boys.

With Payton, when I would get to gaze into his pretty blue eyes, I always felt he would be happy, friendly, kind, and funny. As he grows older, that is re-affirmed as I watch how social he is. He can make friends with anyone!!!! And I have never known a(n) (almost) four year old who TEASES his mom more than his mom teases him. He is very thoughtful... mostly of others, and his cute little prayers reflect that as he consistantly prays for "the whole Planet, and everyone else on it."

My feelings regarding Owen have been silently awe inspiring to me. With him I see sweetness, to be sure, how can you not see that in a baby's cute little smile... that he LOVES to give freely and OFTEN. But more than that, I feel strength, valiance, a soldier... someone strong and true, standing up for what he believes in. It makes my heart startle a bit to think of it, and to even write it. And sometimes I think maybe I just have a wild imagination, but I know thats not really true. Even as Kade blessed him, my testimony grew of inspiration that mothers can receive about their children. Kade talked about Owen being a "leader to his family and friends.... leading them in the directions of love and righteousness..... influencing others for good"
Also, for you fabulous mothers, a great book I just read is called:
Contentment
By: Maria Covey Cole
The insights and inspiration in this book were a daily pick-me-up.

little buckaroo

So long SUMMER

We went raspberry picking at Kade's grandparents a few weeks ago, and they have the funnest places to take pictures on their farm. I will post more... but I couldn't resist taking some snap shots of this litte cutie! Here is a preview.

Also, I am thinking I would like to start learning about photography. I have always kinda been interested in it, but being a mommy (and realizing how much it costs elsewhere to get regular family pics done) I decided its time I just started doing my own. I'll be getting my new fancy-smancy camera for Christmas!!! (thanks kade) and now I am just looking into photography/ photoshop classes... or online helps and tutorials. If any of you... my fabulous and talented friends... have some advice or even a direction you would like to point me.. I WOULD LOVE THE HELP.

Do you think I have it in me??? That photographer's eye??? I dunno... but it will be fun regardless.

5 Years

My handsome Kade and I, just two weeks before having our little Owen.... our five year anniversary was June 12th. Its crazy that time has flown so, but it also seems like I have never been without him!!! I love it! Just have to say thank you to this wonderful man for loving me so boldly and completely. My whole heart is yours, you handsome redneck!!!!

Also notable: Our 3 year old took this picture! He definitely has skills, or as he calls them, "skittles."

7/16/09

Newest Arrival

Owen Weston Klingler. (This is his "half awake/ half asleep" face)

Sleeping on Grandpa Bowen. Don't know if you can tell from this picture, but he has some distinctive "elfin" ears. They are kinda squishied up! SO CUTE!

This was SO PRECIOUS. Owen was asleep on my bed, and Payton came in and wanted to cuddle with me up there. Payton promtly fell asleep as well. I left to make dinner, and when I peeked in the room to check on them, Payton had reached over in his sleep to hold Owen's hand. My heart MELTED!!!!
As of today, July 16th, Owen is 2.5 weeks old!!!!!

The Double Jogger

So, we were debating as to whether or not we should buy the BOB Double Jogger, but I couldn't bring myself to do it because of the price. So, my cute husband, knowing I wanted something cheaper, but top of the line, did some research until he found me this stroller. Its a SCHWINN brand, and very nice!!!!! 300$ as opposed to the one for 598$ that we were originally going to get. Thought it was worth sharing!!!! It pushes like a dream!!! Thanks for all the advice and opinions on stollers that I got from friends along the way.

Owen Weston Klingler

Born June 29th, 5:30am. 7 lbs 2 oz. 20 inches long! What a sweetheart! We are so excited to have him! More pics to come!!

6/9/09

Making precious memories.

Last weekend Kade took Payton with him to and some friends to golf nine holes. (kade recently bought Petey some REAL lefty clubs, and he practices like CRAZY!) We weren't sure he could do all that walking (he is more suited for the children's course at Sandcreek) but he BEGGED Kade to let him come, and I hinted at it as well so I could get a nap!!! They had fun and Payton did great !(only had to be carried on one or two rare occasions.... running to the potty being one of them!!!haha) When they got home, Kade was in a hurry to get the lawned mowed before it rained, so he told Payton "go in a take your shoes off and tell mommy that we are home!" Well, he didn't make it that far. He walked in the door and as far as the shoe rack in the mud room, and was aparantly spent, as he later told me he "walked a long long way and did a hard work!!!!" Kade came and got me to come witness the sight. Apparently the tile was comfortable enough after all that long long walking and hard work!!! He was content to nap there! HOW CUTE!!! Had to take a snapshot!

K- TWO QUESTIONS!!

I need opinions friends!

#1)
I have my heart set on a BOB double jogger, and am shopping around trying to find a good deal. Anyone know of the best place to order one???? AND, more importantly, I want to know from ladies with doubles, is it better to get a stationary front wheel or a swivel front????? I was thinking swivel, but dont know. I don't think I will be using it to go off road much, but just typical jogging at the park or around my neigborhood, and an occasional stroller class in the hills. What do you think????

#2)
I am behind in getting Payton set up for Pre-school in the fall. I was planning on taking him to the Red Apple in Ammon, and then we moved. I have heard of some here in Rigby but don't know which ones are REALLY good, and I am too freaked out to go just sign him up for whichever one. I want to know that he is going to get an actual education there... that it has a good reputation. Anyone know of any in the Rigby area, or wouldn't mind asking around for me. I am on the lookout!!!!

6/1/09

WE HAVE ARRIVED!

Sorry to our friends or family who feel as if we have left them hanging! Have we dropped off the face of the Earth??? No, but we are in our beautiful house in Rigby now, and loving it... but taking time to settle in. We officially moved all our belongings in a little less than two weeks ago, and have since been in the process of trying to get organized (while being physically limited... THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL OUR HELPERS... especially my mom), finishing up the dance season with recital and auditions, and finally..... CLOSING ON OUR HOUSE so it is offically ours.

Promise to post pics tomorrow ! (when I am not soaking in the tub at 2;30 in the morning due to killer pain that doesn't go away OR progress (thank goodness for that part at least!)

Questions about that in the next post. (perhaps you have advice???)

Every day, at least a couple times a day, Payton would say... "mom... I really miss my DAD!"

Boy or Girl???

So- we go in for our ultrasound Wednesday Feb. 11th @ 11:30!! Go ahead and make your guesses now! We will let you know what we find!!!!

1/27/09

looks a little dangerous!

Payton insists that he is a big boy, and therefore should be able to use scissors. I have always been really nervouse about this, but decided he was probably right. So, we went to the store and got some safety scissors for him so that he could learn to cut shapes.

This has proven to be his FAVORITE activity as of late.

He will sit up to the cupboard and cut as many "shapes" as he can, which usually amount to teeny tiny shard of paper. Really, he just makes a lot of litter.... but it's litter that he is proud of. He asked me to take a picture depicting his skill. Because after all, he claims that he is, "really good at this!"

Oh the confidence! Confidence can be dangerous! (I was looking the other way and he tried to cut a slit in my shirt! Aghhh!)

Big Brother

I have got one excited boy! One who constantly tells friends, neighbors, teachers and babysitters how he is going to have a new baby! I love that he is really looking forward to the event. Hopefully that excitement doesn't wane when the baby actually arrives- right!

Some of the things he plans on teaching the new baby are:

fishing

golfing

wrestling

playing the guitar

taking a bath

and playing with cars

Payton has now progressed to saying his own prayers with no help whatsover, and does a wonderful job. He always likes to bless "baby Owen." When asked what we will name the baby if it is a girl, he INSISTS that it is a boy, and that his name is OWEN! hmmmmm

needless to say, he is already a cute big brother and he loves to CONSTANTLY hug my belly!!

..."I'm just resting"

Payton had an active day of play and absolutely WOULDN'T take a nap. This usually results in retiring early for bed that evening. This particular evening he was so upset! He didn't want to eat dinner, he didn't want to talk to us, play with us, look at us. Overall, I was tired of it.

He was throwing a tantrum on the kitchen floor, so I left the room to let him tire himself out. A minute later I noticed he was pretty quiet. I thought maybe he calmed down and went out to the living room to cuddle with Kade on the couch, but upon inspection this is how we found him.

...on the floor in the kitchen, SOUND ASLEEP! I guess there IS USUALLY a reason for tantrums. He was just to tired to handle it. What a cutie!

1/10/09

"I'm a cooker man!"

Payton told mom and grandma that the only thing he wanted to eat for his dinner was eggs. So- Payton and Grandma got out his cooking supplies like normal, and we all ready to crack two eggs, just like always. Anyways- the wonderful women that we are, we left him un-attended while he was cracking his first egg to go in the other room and check on an ebay bid. We were sitting there bidding on the item, and I could still hear him in the kitchen cracking away. I asked my mom to go check on him to make sure he didn't crack too many eggs.
TOO LATE
He cracked the whole carton- and was absolutley proud!

My mom called me into the room to look at it and he proudly stated, "Look mom! I did it all my byself! I'm a cooker man!!!!!!!"

A Whole Carton

This is the whole carton of eggs Payton cracked to cook, ALL BY HIMSELF.... literally, while we were in the other room. Look how good he did! No shells in the eggs! Seperated perfectly. He put all the shells back in the carton and even washed his hands in this other bowl of water afterwards. Too cute!
