SHARK BOY

Shark Boy...
wrinkles up his little nose and glares at my camera over the rim of the tub.
His gaze is menacing... it seems to warn "don't come to close with that thing!"

Then, in an instant his expression changes, he sits up and smiles...
uttering his most common question-

"Where Dada?"

           "Momma!" I say
"Momma's right here.... can you say M-O-M-M-A?"

He stands up, smacking the tub like a drum, while singing...
"dada dada dada." -
and giggles! I think he knows what he's doing that mischevious little thing!

I just can't win with the shark boy today! :-(

Cake Face

One of Payton's last T-Ball games this summer... it was our day to bring treats, so I brought the kids Oreo Cakesters with Caprisun drinks. Owen saw them and was vocal until I grabbed one for him. (though I don't know what I was thinking) I opened it up and handed it over... I guess fully expecting that it may be a bit messy, but it would go straight to his mouth... just like everything else in this world!
So, here I am chatting away with the parents, snapping pictures of the kids. Owen looks at me, squishes the cakester with all his might, crumbling it everywhere, then serenely proceeds to lick the EXCESS of his fingers. I swear this boy knows exactly what he is doing. Typically he devours every bit of food or treat so quickly you would think I never feed him... but not this!

His expression seemed to say, "Watch this Mommy! So, watcha going to do about it?"

Laugh I guess... and take a picture!

(he then proceeded to wipe all extra bits he could find in his lap, ALL OVER HIS FACE.)

(Above: Owen's face once we got home from T-Ball)
Sweet little thing!

lovely breeze {Owen's birthday photo shoot part II: location}

Love,

that in such peace by mountains lie
blows on nightly breezes,
its found a current on which to fly,
a sensitive place to claim.
It's settled on this heart of mine
and traded winds for feelings...
feelings,
never once abashed or weak.

i love them...

...my sweet boys!
Thanks so much to Payton for trying to keep Owen happy while we snapped!!!!
... and thank you Owen, for just being you!

a bit of summer....

Our cute neighbor girls found some orphaned baby birds in their backyard and are taking care of the teeny things.
They brought them over to give us a peek and we let them play on the front lawn!

How totally sweet! The PICTURE of summer!!!!

Family Weekend

A few weeks ago we had a fun weekend in Hagerman. Got to take some smashing photos of my Bro and his Fiance Keli. On our way there we stopped at Twin Falls to visit, SHOSHONE FALLS.
It was beautiful, if not a little muddy and grey- but beautiful all the same! I love when we get
to show Payton things that amaze him. He said "whoa!" a lot!!
The Falls

I read the manual to my new camera (arrived the day before) in the car on the way.

Below {Owen and Kade} was the first shot taken on my new camera.
It's a keeper {the shot} as I love that tender moment- and such a wonderful husband who puts up with my many ambitions!!!

My boys posing on the stairs to the trailhead.
Payton really wanted to hike it... but we decided in favor of hitting the road for more fishing time in Hagerman.

Here is our little pit stop for fishing.
Oster Ponds

Cutie #1
Patient, but no luck.

Cutie #1 again.
Even cuter in this one, showing me his precious blues!

Oh, here's cutie #2!!! He's REAL cute!
He was fishing with a fly pole, which I guess was the trick because he brought in those fishies with every cast.
Payton started to get a bit bored, no fishing action for him. He was soon more interested in the camera and wanted to use it to take some pictures of his daddy by himself.
{the shot below is Payton's- NICE HUH!}

I've let Payton snap pictures quite often since this one.
Of course I have to get the settings on the camera right, and secure it around his neck before I let him go for it. But, as of yet, HE HAS NEVER HAD AN OUT OF FOCUS PICTURE! He is kind of a natural! YAY
*

Later in the weekend my Dad took us out a scenic drive.

I needed some pretty things to practice on.

Payton needed more rocks for his collection {hundreds of them around our house!!!!} and he also hoped to find some fossils and some "dinosaur tooths." {pictured above}

Owen just needed a little sunshine.

Apparently so did this lizzard.

Kade and Payton spent some time skipping rocks on the river, which graduated into throwing in boulders to make HUGE splashes!

And I caught my Dad in my viewfinder as I scanned the landscape, learning his new camera!!!
Such a fun weekend! As always, love me a little relaxation and family!!

Snow Snow, go away.

Had to post, just because he's a beautiful boy!

{a few days before Easter. He was worried there would be no Easter egg hunts because of the snow!}

as big as I wanna be!

Surprise! I'm behind on my blogging. GO FIGURE!
Anywho-

This little cutie is growing up so fast!
{this photos is from the end of March- sorry for the delay}
I walked in to get little Owen after his nap and found him standing for the first time! Oh, time flies. I don't like it!!WHERE IS MY BABY??

Anyway- despite the serious face... he was really proud of himself and was all smiles when I came in.
Then I ran to get my camera, which he eyed warily {i think he's already sick of it!}

Doesn't he have a precious face?
Being a mom is the best!!!!

Payton Kade Klingler

From top to bottom: Payton, Nicole (Mom), Grandpa Bowen, Kade, Uncle Seth

Payton was born September 15th, 2005 and just had his 2nd birthday last month! He has an abundance of energy and loves anything that GOES! Cars, tranes, planes, boats, scooters, motorcycles and helicopters. His toy basket overflows with match box cars and his two favorite books are currently the "I Love You Mommy," and "I Love You Daddy" bear books. This last week we took his changing table and toddler bed out of his room and replaced it with a "big boy" twin bed which he loves to climb onto and "lounge" against the pillows.

He has three major bedtime necessities, all in the form of blankets. His cream satin edged blanket he calls his "corner," his "blue blanket," and his plush "soft" blanket. Payton is all about comfort!

I'm biased, but I think its possible that he might be the cutest kid ever. I definitely think he is a good mixture of Kade and I. I noticed so many similarities between him and his daddy like, their expressions, the way Payton sometimes has a raspy voice, like Kade when he was little. And he is a mover and a shaker, loves to run around, dance, and wrestle- watch Kade's family videos and you can't deny the strong relation. However, the Bowen side is dominant in Payton, especially in his chin. We love trying to figure out who he most looks like. What do you think?
